We recently acquired this little delight: a small, cheaply produced children’s picture book with illustrations of mammals, birds, insects and fish.
Beneath each image, the animal's name is given in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French.

Toy and moveable books for kids were produced in large numbers throughout the 19th c. but rarely survive in good condition, or at all. This one appears to be a sole survivor.
It's from Nettleship’s Toy Shop, Hull, who also sold tea caddies, school bags and velocipedes!

What a fabulously informative, if depressing, thread from @UoYLibrary
Every university library receives student feedback that more books online (or, indeed, 'all books online') would be great. This is what we're up against.
(Not helped by absurd ejournal subscription prices…) https://t.co/z3huCh3MSW— Simon Bains (@simonjbains) May 4, 2021
We were doing one of these interviews last week, and the student was talking about how sometimes they found it annoying when we had paper copies of books instead of ebooks. I can get them on the kindle, they said; the books are only £10. How come you can't buy us enough ebooks?
— Uni Of York Library (@UoYLibrary) May 4, 2021
So the person doing the interview explained why, and the student listened, then they said 'Wow, you should TELL people that…'
So that's what this is.
We wanted to tell you why we can't *always* get the volume of ebooks you need.
You right now: pic.twitter.com/ZhSWQovrWz

What is a Safe Pod, you ask? It's a self-contained space for providing secure access to research data-sets, as it happens.
We digress; the point is the Burton is closed on the 5th, during the installation.
